Large companies in Nijmegen

The majority of Nijmegen's working population is employed in the health sector (23%!), in education and in the service sector. Although Nijmegen does not have a large industrial background, it boasts a number of major manufacturing firms, one of which is NXP’ s silicon chip plant, at business & innovation center 52 Degrees.

Nijmegen has become a growing city in knowledge, health and technology. The foundation of the Radboud University of Nijmegen in 1923 set the tone: Nijmegen has a great variety of institutions providing higher professional and scientific education in many fields. It is the fourth largest university of the Netherlands.
