Student life in Nijmegen
The oldest city in the Netherlands is home to around 15.000 students at the Radboud University, HAN (Higher vocational education in Arnhem and Nijmegen) and ROC Nijmegen (intermediate vocational education). Therefor, Nijmegen is a real 'student town' in every way and provides a lively atmosphere in the many pavement cafes, bars and restaurants. The variety of degrees and other courses offered by the university and colleges attracts a wide range of students. Everyone can feel at home in Nijmegen in his own way.
There are innumerable study associations, student unions and sports clubs. You can party almost every day and night, but Thursday night is the regular ‘students’ night out. The city also has a wide range of cultural events and institutions such as museums, cinemas, theatre and comedy nights in bars.
