Getting around in Nijmegen

For the Dutch (and of course for students), the best way to get around in Nijmegen is the bicycle. The many student houses, often beautiful old premises, are very easy to recognise: by the vast numbers of bicycles parked in front of them!

It’s a 5 minute bike ride from the centre to the university campus, so you don’t need a car as you can always get to your destination in the fastest, cheapest way possible. And when it’s pouring down with rain (unfortunately a regular feature of Dutch weather), you just take the bus which drives regularly to and from the University, the centre or your student house.
