Playgrounds and children's zoos
De Leemkuil playground is
located in a wooded area and offers various facilities including an
outdoor pool, a toy train, a play fort with a suspension bridge for
children to climb and run about in, a twin-track slide, part of which
runs underground, an adventure playground for climbing, swings,
roundabouts, climbing frames and a sandpit.
The main attraction at Brakkefort playground is a colourful castle. It also has two outdoor swimming pools, a paddling pool, a mini-scooter track, a giant chess set, trampolines, a sandpit for toddlers, sand and water games, and of course all kinds of other playground attractions.
Would you like to give your child the opportunity to play outdoors in a safe environment, very close to your home? You can do that in a play centre supervised by people from your own part of town. Nijmegen offers five municipal local play centres and a children’s zoo. Everyone is welcome, and it's free.
The play centres are open in the summer months from May to the end of October from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. and from November to the end of April from 11.45 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. O f course there are other small playgrounds dotted around the town, but they are not supervised.
Would you like to take your children to a children’s zoo? Nijmegen has four of these in various parts of town. They are open every day and entrance is free.
