Opening hours 2010

Most shops are open from Mondays until Saturdays from 9 am to 5.30 pm. On Mondays and Saturdays there is an outdoor market in the town centre. Thursday night is late night shopping, the shops stay open until 9 pm.

Streetmarkets
Every Saturday and Monday you will find a large streetmarket in the city centre at the Augustijnenstraat, Grote Markt, Burchtstraat and Hoogstraat. Stroll along the booths for fresh vegetables, bread, cheese, fish and flowers, or for non-food articles such as clothes, postcards, fabrics, tools, bags and shoes. The markets start at 10 am and ends in summer at 5 pm, but in winter at 4 pm. Other weekdays, smaller markets can be found in other districts of Nijmegen: Tuesdays at shopping center Leuvensbroek, Wednesdays at shopping center Hatert, Thursdays in Heseveld (Paul Krugerstraat) and Fridays in Meijhorst and Lent.

Shop on Sundays
On Sundays and holidays the shops are officially closed, but Nijmegen organises twelve 'Shopping Sundays' per year, each with a special theme and some nice activities. On these Sundays (or Holidays), the shops are open from midday to 5 pm.
